Elements and Principles
Artists did not always refer to their work using the context of the elements and principles of art. Yet, it is a structure that allows us to analyze art in a consistent and meaningful way. Arguably not as much emphasis might be placed on these definitions today. Yet, it is important to understand them and be able to use them in our own artistic rhetoric (the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing) as they are most certainly part of the artistic language today.
